Dr. Twyla Brown graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with honors in marine biology and ecology in 1996. She worked as a sea otter research biologist for the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and this is where she gained her interest in veterinary medicine. She graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 2003 and spent her first year gaining surgical experience.
Dr. Brown previously worked at the Animal Hospital of Newport Hills for 12 years and has been at Salish Veterinary Hospital since it opened in 2016. She enjoys dental procedures, ultrasonography, soft tissue surgery, geriatric, and preventative medicine.
Dr. Brown and her husband, Jeremy, have twin daughters, Madison, and McKenzie, and live with their two yellow labs "Mo" and "Izzy". She enjoys traveling, snorkeling, camping, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
