Veterinarian
Dr. Brandy Schaefer was born and raised in Carnation, Washington, and is excited to return to the Snoqualmie Valley and establish roots in the community that has always felt like home. Her educational journey began in high school as a Running Start student, allowing her to earn an associate degree by the time she graduated. She went on to earn a degree in Philosophy from the University of Washington in 2014 before exploring a wide range of subjects at Bellevue College and discovering her passion for the sciences. This led her to Western Washington University, where she earned a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2020. During this time, she began working as a veterinary assistant and quickly fell in love with medicine. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 2025. Afterward, Dr. Schaefer continued her training by completing a small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle, where she further advanced her clinical training through hands-on experience with complex medical and surgical cases, emergency and critical care, and a variety of specialty services.
Dr. Schaefer is passionate about many aspects of veterinary medicine, but finds one of the most rewarding parts of her work to be supporting the human-animal bond and helping families provide the best possible care for their pets. She values clear, compassionate communication and strives to provide families with the information and guidance they need to make informed decisions that are best for their individual pets. She is also passionate about preventative medicine and enjoys helping families be proactive about their pets' health and well-being throughout every stage of life. Dr. Schaefer particularly enjoys urgent care and emergency cases, where she can combine clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and hands-on medicine to help patients when they need it most. Beyond the hospital, Dr. Schaefer is passionate about volunteering and providing veterinary care to underserved communities, particularly helping pets and families who may otherwise face barriers to accessing care.
