Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Foss became a valued member of the Salish Veterinary Hospital team in July of 2022, bringing with her a strong passion for veterinary medicine and an unwavering commitment to animal care. Growing up in a Korean-American household in Bothell, Washington, Dr. Foss was surrounded by a culture of hard work and family. From a young age, she knew she wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, driven by a desire to help animals and their families. This early determination set her on a path toward achieving her goals.
In 2015, Dr. Foss attended Western Washington University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Evolutionary Biology, along with a minor in Environmental Sciences. Her time at Western University deepened her understanding of biology, ecology, and the interconnectedness of all living creatures. After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Foss continued to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian by attending Oregon State University College. In 2022, she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, ready to embark on her professional career.
With a strong foundation in veterinary medicine, Dr. Foss has developed particular interest in behavior, preventative care, and pain management. She believes in the importance of addressing root causes of behavioral issues and focusing on preventing illness before it occurs. Additionally, Dr. Foss is dedicated to helping animals manage pain, ensuring that they lead healthier and more comfortable lives. Her passionate approach to animal care allows her to build strong bonds with her patients and their families, ensuring that they receive the best care possible.
In 2023, Dr. Foss and her husband, Chris, took a significant step in their lives by purchasing their first home in North Bend. They were thrilled to settle down in the beautiful area, enjoying the natural surroundings and the close-knit community. Their family is also made complete by their three beloved pets: Ann (pictured), a wonderfully loyal and intelligent Australian Cattle Dog mix, Mel, a fiery and independent Calico cat who keeps everyone on their toes, and Stacy, a laid-back Cattle Dog rescue. Together, this furry family adds joy, laughter, and love to Dr. Foss' home.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Foss enjoys a variety of hobbies that keep her engaged and entertained. She has a seep love for Magic: The Gathering, where she enjoys both the strategic gameplay and the social aspects of the game. Cooking is another of her passions, and she often takes on cooking projects that allow her to experiment with new recipes and flavors. In addition, Dr. Foss is a fan of horror movies, enjoying the thrill and excitement , they provide. She loves attending drag shows, appreciating the creativity, artistry, and vibrant culture with the drag community.
