Devon

Devon's story began in rural Minnesota, where he grew up surrounded by the beauty of the countryside and the tranquility of nature. It was in this serene environment that his deep connection to the outdoors and wildlife took root. When Devon was 16, he and his mom made the life-changing decision to move to Washington, a shift that not only introduced him to new landscapes but also opened the door to countless opportunities in his academic and professional journey. 

Eager to continue pursuing his passion for the natural world, Devon attended Washington State University (WSU), where he pursued a major in Wildlife Ecology, a field that allowed him to blend his love for animals with his academic strengths. Along with his major, he minored in Zoology, gaining a comprehensive understanding of animal behavior, biology, and conservation. His time at WSU was an enriching experience, and after years of hard work and dedication, he proudly graduated in the spring of 2024, ready to embark on the next chapter in his life.

Just a few months after graduation, Devon moved to the area to begin his role at Salish Veterinary Hospital in July of 2024, where he continues to grow and learn. Working at Salish allows him to build on the foundation of his education and gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine, which further fuels his passion for caring for animals. His journey at Salish is just the beginning, as Devon has set sights on veterinary school, planning to attend in the fall of 2025. In the meantime, he continues to immerse himself in the day-to-day work at Salish Veterinary Hospital, learning from experienced professionals and elevating his skills in preparation for the challenges and excitement that lies ahead in veterinary school.

Outside of his professional life, Devon is a true outdoorsman at heart. His love for nature runs deep, and he enjoys spending much of his free time exploring the great outdoors. Fly fishing, hiking, and camping are just a few of the activities he relishes, finding both relaxation and adventure in these pursuits.

Devon currently resides in Newcastle with his girlfriend, Mera, and their lazy English Bulldog, Mini (pictured). Despite her lazy demeanor, Mini is a cherished member of family, providing companionship and joy in the quiet moments they share at home. Devon, Mera, and Mini enjoy their time together, and their home serves as a peaceful retreat where Devon can relax from his busy life and recharge for the next adventure.
