
Veterinarian/Hospital Medical Director
Dr. Mary Kent was raised in the sunny, desert city of Scottsdale, Arizona. Her journey eventually led her to the Pacific Northwest, where she mase the move to Pullman, Washington, fulfilling a long-held dream of becoming a "Coug" by attending Washington State University. At WSU, she pursued her passion for animals and the science behind their care, earning her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2013. Her love for veterinary medicine and the desire to make a tangible difference in the lives of animals propelled her forward, and in 2017, she graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, ready to embark on a career of service and healing.
Dr. Kent is deeply passionate about a variety of areas within veterinary medicine, particularly preventative care, internal medicine, and surgery. She joined the Salish Veterinary team in 2020, where her dedication to animal care and her expertise quickly became a valuable asset to the clinic. In 2023, Dr. Kent took on the role of Medical Director, stepping into a leadership position where she guides the team with compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the well-being of both the animals and the people who care for them.
Outside of her veterinary career, Dr. Kent resides in the town of Snoqualmie, Washington, where she enjoys the natural beauty of the area alongside her husband, James, and their young sone, Taylor. Their home is also shared by Amber (pictured), a spunky and energetic rescue Terrier who adds a dose of fun and mischief to their family dynamic. Together, they make the most of their time in the great outdoors, exploring all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
In her free time, Dr. Kent enjoys a variety of activities that help her stay active and connected to her community. She is dedicated participant in barre classes, which offer a great way for her to maintain physical strength and flexibility. Additionally, she loves hiking and skiing, taking full advantage of the stunning landscapes around her. Her love for family is also reflected in her volunteer work with the Mt. Si FFA Veterinary Science students, where she mentors and inspired the next generation of veterinary professionals. Whether it's helping her patients, spending time with her family, or guiding aspiring veterinarians, Dr. Kent finds joy in giving back and sharing her passion for animals care.
