Lead Veterinary Assistant
Abbey was born and raised in the scenic Pacific Northwest. Her childhood was filled with outdoor adventures and a love for the environment, but she also had the unique opportunity to spend a few years living on the tropical island of Maui with her father while finishing high school. This experience provided her with a different perspective on life, introducing her to the island's vibrant culture and lush landscapes. Despite the time spent in Hawaii, Abbey eventually returned to the Pacific Northwest, where she felt a deep connection to the beauty and serenity of the valley that she now calls home.
Abbey joined the Salish Veterinary Hospital team in March on 2023. Abbey's passion for animals has been a constant throughout her life. From a young age, she was drawn to animals and their well-being, nurturing a desire to help care for them in any way she could. This lifelong love for animals led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, and is currently working hard to achieve her goal of becoming a credentialed veterinary technician. Abbey is dedicated to her education and is excited to continue learning and growing in the field so that she can make a positive impact on the lives of animals and their families. Her compassion and commitment to animal care are evident in every step of her journey, and she is eager to contribute her skills to the veterinary community.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Abbey enjoys spending quality time with her dog, Taz (pictured), a loyal Pitbull who shares her love for adventure and activity. Abbey and Taz train together and compete in Dock Diving, a sport that combines Abbey's love for her dog with her passion for athletic challenges. The thrill of watching Taz leap into the water is one of her greatest joys, and they both relish the bond they've built through training and competition. Abbey also values the time she spends with her friends and family, cherishing the moments of connection and support that these relationships bring. Whether she's spending time outdoors with Taz or enjoying the company of loved ones, Abbey's life is filled with activities and relationships that bring her happiness, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose.
