Kate

Kate grew up in the charming town of Marysville, where she developed a strong appreciation for nature and the close-knit sense of community that small towns often offer. Several years ago, she decided to make the move to the beautiful valley, seeking new opportunities and a change of pace. This decision led her to to join the team at Salish Veterinary Hospital in December of 2021, where she began her journey as the morning kennel attendant. Her passion for animal care and her natural ability to connect with animals quickly became evident. Kate swiftly advanced to a veterinary assistant role, where she could apply her growing knowledge of animal health. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Kate also took on the task of managing the kennel areas, overseeing its day-to-day operations with great attention to detail and efficiency. As part of the Salish team, she is always eager to contribute and further develop her skills, and some of her favorite days are spent collaborating with Dr. Thomazin on particularly challenging cases. These cases provide her with the opportunity to apply her problem-solving abilities and deepen her understanding of veterinary medicine, making every day at Salish an exciting learning experience.

Outside of her professional life, Kate enjoys a variety of outdoor activities that keep her active and engaged. One of her greatest passions in rock climbing, which allows her to challenge herself both mentally and physically. Whether she's scaling a steep cliff or hiking to a breathtaking viewpoint, Kate finds solace and strength in the great outdoors. Hiking is another activity she loves, offering her the chance to explore the areas scenic landscapes and connect with nature in a peaceful and invigorating way. Another special aspect of Kate's life is the time she spends with her boyfriend, Matt, and their energetic black Lab, Spike (pictured). Together, they enjoy weekend trips to their family beach house on Whidbey Island, where they can relax, explore, and let Spike run freely along the shore. These family outings are an opportunity for Kate to unwind and recharge, all while making cherished memories with her loved ones.
